"Have Thy Own Way, Lord"

"Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Hold o'er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me!"

I want God to have “Absolute Sway” in my life. I want to be completely confident that God guides me and directs me in the way I should go.

"Absolute sway." It brings to mind resting in a hammock swaying with the wind in complete peace.  Under a full and beautiful oak tree with birds singing and blue skies. Having a feeling of confidence that I need not worry because I’m covered and directed by a loving God.

"Absolute sway." When you have trusted God in every area of your life and have deep, settled confidence in Him, your heart will be peaceful no matter what clouds come to constrict your view. It’s not a fairy tale. It’s real. Complete trust in our loving God is with you every minute of the day.

You can have calm endurance through any sorrow or pain if you believe and know God is the One who takes you through all things. Yes, you may hurt, you may cry, you may fall for a season, but inside your heart you trust and know God will deliver you.

What do I need to do to make this happen? Be truthful to myself. Do I have the deep, settled confidence I need? Do I trust God with everything in my life? Do I talk to Him. Read His Word. Listen to His music. Training my mind to include Him in everything I do so even when my heart breaks, and I don’t know what is going to happen, I can still have His peace.

I get off track often, but all it takes is one thought, and I can have God back in my mind. It’s amazing how a single thought of Him can turn everything around. No matter how far off I am, one word or thought of Him, changes everything.

Power. Mercy. Love. Strength. Grace. Trust. Joy Forgiveness. All of these words when associated to our God can bring your thoughts into His control and change will come.

"Absolute sway." It’s a wonderful feeling to have. Let Him have absolute sway over you.

By His Grace . . .
