"Who Touches Earth With Beauty"

“Like the arching of the heavens, Lift my thoughts above; Turn my dreams to noble action, Ministries of love.”

“Ministries of love.” I think we all want to know that what we do we do because of the love God has given us to serve Him with. We want to do things that bring glory to God. And we want to do it with love.

It doesn’t always work out that way. We get tired, irritable, drained of energy. Sometimes we do things without the right attitude. It’s hard to stay completely even mentally and emotionally.

That’s why rest is so important as we go about our lives. We aren’t super people. We are normal, everyday women who have many things to accomplish in a day.

God can give us that rest. In Matthew 11:28, a favorite verse of Scripture for all, it says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

On Biblehub.com, Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible: “Spiritual rest here, peace of conscience, ease of mind, tranquility of soul, through an application of pardoning grace, a view of free justification by the righteousness of Christ, and full atonement of sin by his sacrifice; and eternal rest hereafter.”

Study-Bible.org, by Francis says: “When Jesus promises to give us rest, it is important to understand what type of rest He means. This isn’t just a physical break from work but a deep soul-level peace that comes from trusting in Him. This rest is about releasing our worries and finding comfort in His presence. It is a spiritual renewal that can rejuvenate every aspect of our lives . . . It’s a call to embark on a journey toward peace, trusting that Jesus will guide you through life’s challenges. As you embrace the rest He offers, remember that it is not just a one-time event but a continuous relationship built on faith and trust.”

"Ministries of love." Let’s turn to God when we need rest in our efforts of daily life. Then our “Ministries of Love” will flow through us because of the promises of our great and loving God.

By His Grace . . .
