"My Jesus, my Savior, there is none like You.
All of my days, I want to praise, The wonders of Your mighty love.
"My comfort, my shelter, Tower of refuge and strength.
Let every breath, all that I am, Never cease to worship You.
"Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing, Power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar, At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands, Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand.
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You."
I love the personal beginning of this song: "My." My Jesus. My Savior. the writer, Darlene Zschech, had these words to share:
"When I was age 15, I attended a youth group called Royal Rangers. I attended for a few weeks, met the giver of Life, Jesus Christ.
"My memories of a particular evening meeting are so
clear - the irresistible invitation to receive Jesus into my life. My longing
to be made whole overtook my limited understanding, and I got out of my seat
and, with a couple of other young people, walked toward the leader. He led us
in the most beautiful prayer I have ever prayed.
“At home, I slipped onto the bench of an old piano my
parents had given me when I was 5 years old. My hands fell on the keys, and I
began to improvise, not really playing anything particular. Suddenly, I found myself
singing a song, which flowed from my heart. I continued to sing it, again and
again. I realized that the message of my song was true. It begins, ‘My Jesus,
my Savior, Lord there is none like You.’
“I said to myself, ‘I think the Lord has given me a
worship song.’ However, I was very timid about singing my song for others. I
asked the church music director and his visiting friend to turn their faces to
the wall while I played and sang my new song. My hands were so sweaty I feared
my fingers would slip off of the keys. As I finished singing, the men turned
and assured me they thought my song was wonderful.”
Lovely words and lovely tune to express our worship to the Lord. We can all relate to the words of this song. I especially like the words: "My comfort, my shelter, Tower or refuge and strength."
2 Corinthians 1:3
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort."
Scripturesavvy.com: "The phrase 'God of all comfort' reflects the idea that God is not just a source of comfort among many but the ultimate source of comfort for every situation we face. It speaks to His nature as one who deeply cares for His children, is compassionate, and understands our pain. God's comfort is not limited; it is available to everyone. No matter how low we may feel or how severe our hardships may be, God is there to lift us up, reminding us that we are loved and cared for deeply."
All to my Jesus, my Savior.
By His Grace . . .
